About ARC
Alliance Rowing Club of Illinois (ARC) aspires to be a leading advocate for the advancement of rowing for youth and adults in the north shore Chicagoland area.
ARC believes the sport of rowing can be instrumental in fostering lifelong personal wellness and in developing positive character traits like duty, deferred gratification, mental grit and leadership which yield successful pursuits in academics, the workplace, and personal relationships. Through collaboration with area clubs, schools, universities, and foundations, ARC envisions rowing to extend beyond its current boundaries to reach new communities thus creating more opportunities for personal growth and success.
ARC develops and delivers grassroots recreational and competitive rowing programs for youth and adults in Wilmette and Chicagoland’s North Suburban communities. These programs are designed to engage advanced rowers, aspiring athletes, fitness buffs and newcomers in a collaborative community where each rower/athlete can achieve individual goals while advancing the common good of the club and the sport. ARC provides its programs in a productively positive environment where all members should feel challenged to strive for their best.
